Set of 4 coasters made from reclaimed bourbon barrel staves. The cup well is 3 inches in diameter.

Notice my coasters don't have the unsightly drill hole on the middle of them! This is because I use a router instead of a drill press to make my coasters.

These are shaped from barrels used to age bourbon whiskey. The material is oak and makes a charming gift and conversation starter.

The inside char is sanded down with just enough left to preserve the unique look of the fire scale from the barrel making process.
There are two with the inside of the barrel out, and two with the charred inside of the barrel out.

Still visible on the side profile is the material line where the whiskey has penetrated the wood during the aging process.

I flatten the bottoms slightly to make sure the coasters are stable.

The unique quality of these is that there are no two exactly the same. Each one is hand cut and finished by me in my shop and they are made to order. This means it may take a little time to get your order out.

The target size of the coaster is 4 inches by 4 inches. They could be a little bigger or smaller depending on the staves used. The drink well is 3 inches in diameter which is the average size of a bourbon glass.

I seal the tops with high quality polyurethane to protect the wood. I leave the the bottom unfinished and if you scuff them with a little sandpaper occasionally you can still smell the whiskey. If you do not want any sealant used let ,me know in the order comments.
